Shuyi is a product designer and freelance illustrator. She has been involved in a wide range of design practices, from graphic design to UI design, and has gained much commercial design experience along the way. Shuyi has the partnership with Wanted Design to design an interactive exhibition online in Manhattan and contributes to the graphic design of the website. She has a collaboration with MoMA in POD. She holds a design patent for a set of audio equipment, and she has worked with companies including Colgate and ZTE. Shuyi is also a freelance illustrator and sells her illustration prints through her Instagram account. Her drawings and product design projects have been exhibited at the Suzhou Art Museum and the Z-art Center in Shanghai.

She was born and raised in China and received her  BA in Product Design from China Academy of Art, Shanghai.  Shuyi's master thesis in SVA Products of Design explores blind box culture—the phenomenon of purchasing an unknown product for a set price—and its use in motivating people to try something new.
